Hi, I have acquired a Xeon E5-2660 processor and was either thinking of either selling it or upgrading my components to utilize it. I want to know if its worth buying a LGA2011 motherboard to suit and would it be worthwhile considering I use my machine mostly for serious gaming.

I'm going to say not worth it. Its clockspeed is brutally low and is essentially made for multithreading applications of which 99% of games cant use more than 4c anyway. Selling that off and buying Haswell (4770K based system) would be my path.

Thank you Earthdog for the sound advice. Ill try and get rid of it and go Haswell :)
