Yeah had this DFI UT X58-T3EH8 since Dec 24, 2008 :D

Max Bclk Validation
So far 235bclk is max for validation. Messing with voltages to see if I can get more :)

WICKED!

Since you obviously throw intel specs to the wind, what would you consider max safe vcore for 24/7 use (not considering temps)?

24/7 anywhere between 1.25-1.35v as low as temps <80-85C

max stable ht for what ? for benching ? or everyday ? 4ghz at 1.184v is what i like with 19x211bclk 844mhz on memory 6-7-6.

Actually for i7/x58 cpu clocking and memory clocking is tied by the voltages - get the memory side voltages and settings right and your cpu clocking side goes alot more smoothly :)

Now that I started testing my uncore frequency overhead on W3520, thought I'd see how far I can push it on regular water cooling.

Dropped bclk to 210-214 and bumped uncore multiplier from 16x default with 8x mem multiplier, to 22x uncore multiplier and managed to push it to @4663Mhz uncore frequency Super Pi 32M stable, @4707Mhz for 4M stable and Everest and screenshot @4760Mhz uncore frequency !!!! Had to jack up both CPU VTT and VDIMM voltage to reach such uncore frequencies :)

Uncore frequency = 4663.5Mhz

System:
  • Intel Xeon W3520 3845A935 D0 (Xeon equivalent of Core i7 920 D0)
  • EK Supreme LT 1366 / FESER 480 / MCP655
  • DFI UT X58-T3EH8 04/28 beta
  • HD4870x2 (HIS 4870X2 to Asus Top bios) with ATI WinXP 9.5
  • 6GB Corsair Dominator GT DDR3-2000Mhz 7-8-7-20
  • 750GB Samsung SATAII
  • Silverstone OP1200 PSU
  • Triple boot - WinXP Pro SP3 / Vista Ultimate 64Bit SP2 / Win7 Ultimate 64bit RC

Pushed the system a bit higher for wPrime v1.55 from 4500mhz to 4600+mhz but used Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit SP2. Limited by water cooling seems as 1024M @4664Mhz fails around 77% mark into the run :(

Hey eva2000, I just got a T3eH8 and 920.. BIOS is already updated to the latest official (May 8)--is it the same as the beta 04/28 bios you're using? Why arent you using the 05/08 version?

Just curious.. after I lap my new IFX-14 cooler that is so badly curved at the base (so bad that it wobbles when I place it flat on the dinner table), I'm gonna overclock the hell outta the 920 no matter how good/bad the chip is. :D
