xigmatek s1283 i7?

Okay, so EarthDog has a spare cooler sitting around and it's a Xigmatek s1283 (http://www.xigmatek.com/product.php?productid=5). He was unsure as to whether or not this would fit an 1150 socket? Anyone have any idea? He was thinking it should, but my quick google search said I would need a different mounting bracket (http://www.xigmatek.com/product.php?productid=92). Any input would be appreciated here. Thanks!

I've done it actually

Take the clips out of the 775 socket bracket, run some M4 bolts through the holes, and put nuts on the back of the board

Well thanks. That sounds like it should work well!

He's also trying to convince me to buy his old Kraken instead. So...since it seems that this cooler combination with the processor would work well, the new question becomes do I go Water or do I go Air?

Well, the question is up to you.
The S1283 will do a nice job, it's a solid cooler. And you'll spend about $5 in nuts/bolts/washers at Lowe's.
The Kraken will do better, but you'll spend a decent bit more than $5
