hi getting some kingston ram but dont know which to choose

512MB 400MHz DDR ECC CL3 (3-4-4) DIMM

or the

512MB 400MHz DDR ECC CL3 (3-3-3) DIMM

i want to overclock the 2.4C p4 i got to 3gig so which should i get and whats the difference?

ta

I wouldn't get either as both sticks are ECC. Go for non-ECC sticks, ideally Hyper X or XMS (Corsair).

The difference between the two you listed is the second stick is rated to run at slightly tighter timings; the performance difference though would be minimal.

i am building a workstation so i realy want something thats rock solid....that why i went for ECC ram.

does tighter timings mean it will be slightly quicker.....i wonder why then the 3-3-3 stick is cheaper (£66) than the 3-4-4 Stick (£70)

ahhhh i have forgoteren the ECC memory...after reading some comments on the web.

have gone for 2 sticks of 512 MB PC 3500 Corsair XMS i hope there worth it.

now i have to wait....tick tock...god dam i hate waiting!
