ah didnt know that i thought it would kind of cool to try but i would suck to work on it because of the nasty oil all over everything
 
that is so old i cant even believe it. whenever i see a thread title like this i think "oh they made another discovery?" but no...another letdown ;) :(
 
It'll work better with mineral oil. Transformer oil (which is mostly mineral oil plus some additives to enhance dielectric strength) is the best oil to use.
 
I did it a few years back in a 1 gallon fish tank and an VIA ITX in mineral oil
PS fans still turn in mineral oil :p
