Spotted this in an article over at Toms Hardware. Better be careful with this board. Seems like the tubes would be rather expensive to replace if they got broken.

However, I must admit that the idea of a motherboard with a built in amp for the sound system is rather interesting.

I've heard they're actually quite cheep, and very good. That's why they're used.

Some of my friends are into guitars & amps, and they say the best amps [that they can afford] use vacuum tubes. Just seeing a vacuum tube in a modern day pc is just kinda funny. Kinda like using a mini-steam engine to power something in a car.

we allready had this discussion about this motherboard 3 weeks ago. its nothing like steam engines in a car. its more like a $1000 sterio system in your computer.

its not you, amd has some ground to cover, and if they dont give a good example of how its supposed to work, via is liable to screw it up, and put amd out of business...
