hard drive imaging and backup

How do I create an image of a freshly installed operating system and everything else that is on the hard drive including settings and drivers for a quick and easy recovery in the case of a system crash?

I have no clue, I have not looked into is just yet... I'll go buy the software tomorrow. I hope they have it at Best Buy .
