I'm going to buy one. An "AMD Athlon XP2100+ 1.73GHZ 256K 266 Tbred B". I've narrowed the choices to 2.

I'm torn as to which to buy though. Posts have touted both the 0250 and the 0302 as being good OCers. Which do I get????????

Money is buring a hole in my pocket!!!

If you need to make a choice, I'd go with the 0302. From what I've seen posted, they are doing ever so slightly better than 0250s (maybe 50-100mhz). The 0302s seem to like high voltage, and since you're cooling with water, that shouldn't be a problem, assuming your mobo can crank up the vcore.

Oh and the RAM too....

Forgot this one:

Thinking I'm going to stick with the 8K7A+ for a while yet, what's the fastest RAM I can run? It would seem my current OC limitations have been due to only running PC2100.

Can I go to PC2700 or PC3000 or higher?

Suggestions welcome.:p

id recommend getting a new motherboard before you get new ram..get the 8RDA+, this will not only allow you to overclock a whole lot more, but it has locked pci/agp clocks..so you dont have to worry about your drives getting corrupted..since the 8k7a+ only has a 4/1 divider...166mhz is already 41.5mhz pci speed..or something like that. get the 0302, and an 8rda+...save off on the ram, pc2100 should allow you to get to 166mhz fsb or a little more, so that is good enough for now.

Thanks for the info. I have been trying to get stats on the divider for my MB.

I'm going to go with your suggestion:

2100+ AIUHB 0302
8RDA+
PC3200 (later)

Will post stats when I get it together.

Now.....What to do with the old stuff......SETI or Fold?

For me it is FOLD, and not just on "the old stuff" ;)
