Definitely seem faster, and if there's an IQ drop I can't see it. Quick test with 3dMark 8628

Oh and Hardware Acceleration under PowerDVD almost works, just flashy as hell now instead of a blank screen

I just upgraded from windows Me (tons of problems) to XP
and my 8500 3d mark scores jumped from
8427 to 9439, almost 1000 points!!!

the drivers for xp must be way better....

no other settings have changed i dont know how else to explain, is this typical?

Yeah m8, that's why I said 6058 Win2000 . The XP version is due for the end of the week apparently.
