Not bad, $53 for a 100% overclock. Not nearly as fast as the other C2D's in 1M prime because of the cache, but it looks like it fares well in most of the other tests. How are the temps? Or did I miss them in the screenshot?

Edit: Yeah, I see the temps now. A little warmer than I'd expect on your cooling, but overall, still a great overclock

Here's what I want to see: the killer-est $500 rig.

Grab one of these CPU's, a cheap motherboard that supports Penryn's new 1600FSB, and two gigs of el-cheapo DDR2 800 ram. Pin-mod the CPU so it boots with 400FSB and 1.45v, drop in one of the uber-cheap 2900Pro 512mb cards floating around and a cheapy 7200RPM 160GB drive.

You could assemble a pretty great rig for someone with very little cash.

Great review as always, I was hoping someone would do one soon so all the people saying these things are trash may think again :)

it's definitely nice to see those OC numbers. The performance by itself isn't amazing, but performance/$ is pretty sick.

Looks like I'll be grabbing one of these for my HTPC setup now. I was going to go with an E21xx series but I doubt the HTPC uses demand the extra cache.

Nice chip.

Wind great post as always!! another cpu on the cheap i want to play with now!

i laugh to my self when people trash the new celeron-L's.:sn:
the extra L2 on helps in some areas, when its gaming its not much if any help..
