Opteron 144 @ 3.1ghz... Believe it or not *PICS*

Hey guys,

PICS--Recently restarted due to changing ram timings but was Prime stable last night for 8 hours at these CPU settings. The Super PI score for 32M shown was at these settings with less than optimal memory =)






I purchased some Opty 144's recently,
First one from the batch is a CAB2E with I think a GPAW 0602 code.

I'm using a DFI Ultra-D -> SLI
Thermaltake Venus 7700 cooler thing, its just a copper version of the OEM cooler.

High end aircooling in my case but nothing excessive.
480-W Antec Neo.

Currently priming 344x9 = 3100MHZ. No errors yet. 1.55v
Was stable at 333x9 = 3000MHZ at 1.45v.

**I'm thinking this has just about maxed out my DFI Ultra-D**

Load temp 48C.

Wonder chip! Thought I'd let ya'll know these newer CAB2Es might be quite good.

Posted 350x9 in windows. Erorred 30 minutes later.
Posted 350x7 to test the motherboard, erorred same time.
Tried bumping the voltages on the motherboard no luck to increase max HTT. Guess I maxed out this DFI Ultra D. Any other NFORCE4s go higher?

@3.1 344x9....
Still running prime... No errors. 46C now lol.

I'm using a 1/2 divider because I didn't want to have any memory problems.
But they are 2x512 OCZ @ 2-3-2-5 normally at 210fsb.

I have a few more of these chips to test hope they all do as well.

Antec Neo Power 480W
2x512 PC3200 OCZ @ 2-3-2-5 210FSB @ 2.7v

3x 120MM fans
3x 80MM fans
Antec SX1030 I believe it was Case.

5100 3DMARK 05 right now =)

Bump the voltage =)

Increase your case cooling so the ambient temp is lower.

wow very nice oc at 1.45v. I tried going up to 290x10 1.6v but prime would fail all the time. I have a 146 cab2e 0546. Good chip you have there.

I don't mean to get off topic but I just switched to phase and FYI, Opterons for the most part don't play nice with cold temps. Keep this in mind before you spend tons of money on a phase system.

i'm expriencing the same amazing results w. my 144 that i picked it up from monarch a couple days ago. stepping is cab2e 0602gpaw and i'm runngin the amd heatpipe hsf.

There ya go Exact same stepping. I've tested 4 and all have hit 3.1GHZ!

See my original thread, its OCZ 512x2, its old stuff that doesnt fall into the new categories like premier or EL, I don't know what the chips are but its copper spreaders, for the 28s super Pi I had it at 1.5-2-2-5 at 177MHz, unfortunently a higher divider wouldn't work.

Very NICE! My 144 is doing 323x9 with 1.44vcore for now, I bet it has potential for 3.0+ as well.

yeah these newer cab2e cores are soaring, mines a cab2e 0604 I think, didn't write it down before popping it in, its doing 3.0 at 1.475 and will do 2860 at stock volts, I havn't tried for any higher than 3.0, but I'll have some work to do on it on wednesday.
