Problem with halflife

When i try to start halflife i get an error that says "halflife requires service pack 3 to run" Im running win2k with all updates. Iv tried reinstall hl and running the repair of win2k. Im sure reinstalling windows will do it, but i dont want to.

Get the lates Half-Life patch. That will clear the problem right up. It happened to me. Fileplanet.com has it, it's linked from planethalflife.com

K, i have all the patches, i guess iv never tried to enter the game before patching. Thx.
