pics as promised, i painted the the inside black, and red, but you cant really tell from the photo's. that was the hardest part, i had to take the case all apart, paint, then put it all back together again - quite a job.

it was also my first dremel job... and if you look closely at the front panel, you can see where i screwed up :p i still need to clean up the wiring, and either paint/stealth the drives.

Nice mod job Mr. Chambers. looks pretty clean to me except the wiring. Thats always the hardest part IMO. Mine looks worse then yours right now. I'm in the middle of adding a SATA hdd and a raid setup so things are in a major disarray.

I should order a couple of these but the wife would blow her top if I did. Don't need that right now.

Nice deal from a good reseller. I just finished building a PC with cheap aluminum case from compgeeks I got in September and it looks good. I paid around $27 and I'm very happy with it. This one is too good to pass up so it looks like I'm going to out another $30. Thanks OP for the deal.

thanks tismedt :) one of these days i'm gonna take it all apart and heatshrink all the wiring, and make it look all nice and organized. for now its fine though (aka, i dont have the energy) :p

one thing i like about this case, well and any alum for that matter, this being my first, is how freaking light they are... its amazing the difference between my old tower and this one. taking this to LAN's is MUCH better than hauling my old one!

again thanks for the good link flapperhead, if i didnt already have one, i'd jump on this deal!

Here are a couple more pic showing the size in the rear of the case (the green fan is an 80mm) and the gray block is a side drafting / ducted 80mm if you want to use this case for a good rig you'll need to fallow Mr. Chambers with the fan modding.

PS I love the window mod you did Mr. Chambers

thanks stedeman, i didnt think it was too bad for my first case modding experience. you wont be able to fit any fans in the back of the case, obviously, well maybe a 60mm would fit - but those are loud and dont push much air.

2 80's on the top was tricky, i had to cut out a portion of the case frame also, as well as the top panel (obviously) to get them to fit.

Are they out of the Aluminum one for $19 plus shipping? The only $19 one I see is the steel one. I think I may just get the 4378SL (the one Mr. Chambers modded) for $30. By the way Mr. Chambers, nice job on the mods. How did you make the blowholes? A hole saw? Also, is the case lighter then most other aluminum cases?

i cut them out with a dremel actually, took ALONG time, and if you look REAL close, it doesnt look very good (but the grills cover most of the ugliness) :D as for the case being lighter, this is my first aluminum case, so i dont know how it is compared to others, but its VERY light.

u can also use what is called a nibbler. its designed for precision cutting by taking out a small bit of metal at a time. it works real well.

just got home from work tonite and lo and behold here is my skyhawk case. only 4 days shipping. man this case is really nice much better than i dared hope for..Its not quite as tall and a tad narrower than my lian li pc60. but believe it or not it compares favorably. no sliding mb tray but i aint complaining. this is one really great deal!!!! i think im gonna get another....
