Switch WXP SP to MP

Hi,
I shall replace my P4 1600D by P4 2.4/800 HT CPU.
I should like to know, how to change my WXP Pro OS from SP to MP
and don't need to reinstall it.
On the www.bp6.com I have once
this read, but details I don't remember.

in device manager,under computer, right click on the acpi uniprocessor pc, select update driver, manually select the acpi multiprocessor pc.
That should do it.... Have done it many times.
