Ubuntu 18.04 command to force shutdown

Hi,

I need a command to force an unattended shutdown of my Ubuntu 18.04 computer at a certain time twice a week.

Preferably a command that shuts down nicely so files are closed etc.

Any ideas?

Looks like I need to do this on Win 8 machine too - any ideas for apps that would control a shudown?

That looks like it will work fine.

I can just type the command the day before the shutdown is needed.

I've used the cron package for backups across the network and also notifications.
