According to that we see an improvement. 10c/20t flagship part for $500. Base 10c/20t part for $410. Last gen was 8c/16t for $550. It isnt 12c for $500, but it's way better than it was. ;)
 
Not to jump on the bandwagon of whining about the names, but they are not nearly as nice as the single digits. I guess it's better than putting an X in front.

Sad to see yet another chipset for 14nm mainstream, but I suppose it was probably necessary to increase the core count.
 
Got a nice AMD "deep discount" today at Microcenter - Ryzen 7 2700X for $129.
