I have 2 sticks of 256mb of crucial ddr, and I'm wondering is 1 stick better or does it even matter when someone is trying to overclock their system.

When trying to overclock one stick is easier. I'm sure someone here can explain to you why, I don't want to make a guess. But it really doesn't matter. Just go for two incase one fails.

One stick supposedly should be better than two. I assume this is because the general goal: the lesser the circuits, the better.
However: The only time when I noticed a difference between using one or two stick the result was the opposite: I used two 128 Mb sticks(PC100) in an overclocked celeron machine. When I removed one of the sticks, maximium FSB I could achive at stable operation dropped by around 15 Mhz. (!!)

Henry
