I have a stick of PC2100 and I accidentally knocked off a resistor and the computer wouldn't boot. Now I thought the memory wouldn't work so I didn't use for a while. Now I had 2 more sticks of PC2100 and I mixed them up and installed the one with the brocken resistor, and it worked. When I realized it I was happy at first, but then I was concerned. What are the resistors for? I ran a memory test from a bootable diagnostics program and the bandwidth was perfectly fine, and it reported no errors at all after hours of testing. So has this stick miraculasly resurected by god, or does that resistor have no effect on the stick? Is it dangerous to run it in my computer? maybe its being undervolted and could cause some errors, or even physical damage to the motherboard. Any input would be graetly appriciated.
