Hmm a strange looking setup, I think the "j" type fins are some way to slow the air speed down so the air can collect more heat? :eh?:
 
Good theory, also may give a little more air resistance too.

For some reason, my gut says its not going to be a good performer?
 
If it was copper it would be great imo. If you look at a cooler master aero 7 they have similar fins like that, not quite as curved though but curved from the base still.
 
Just a typical skivved heatsink. And aluminum, not copper. And not quiet either. Don't get too excited... this thing is made to compete with the stock heatsink, not the high end ones.
It's an effective design, but there are better out there, and they're made of copper. The AX-478 definately outperforms this. So does the Volcano 7+.
