my 8rga+ i got yesterday won't boot if there is ram in banks 2 or 3. it will work fine with either ram chip in bank 1. the ram is pc3200 buffalo 256 and i have 2 of them. the processor is a 1700+ dlt3c jiuhb from svc.com.

if i try a ram chip in either 2 or 3 i get a c1 boot error which the book says is memory.

any ideas on what can remedy this problem?

Try some other RAM if possible, maybe borrow from a friend? Also try booting with memory in slot 1, then set relaxed timings in the BIOS. If you keep having problems, its possible the slots are bad, and its RMA time :(

i went into the bios and changed the FSB to 200 and the memory to 200. restarted it, let it update the bios, then turned it off once it posted, stuck the ram in, and it is workin now. i should be happy, but i am ****ed that it is workin. runnin in dual channel at 200x11. hopefully prime will make it through the night.

sandra rating on memory is 3034/2839. is that any good?

cpu arithmatic 6109/3064
cpu multimedia: 12176/13456

that is close to mine. i have a 2500+ @ 10.5x200, 7-3-3-2 and my sandra scores are ranging roughly (don't have the numbers in front of me) between 3030-3080/2820-2870.
