Can someone tell me what temperaturs are on that borad. Assume that sensor (that little **** in middle of socket) does not show correct state.
XP2500+ at default with thermalright AX7 and 3000 rpm fan idle 49 and load 56C.
Try remounting heatsink several time - no success. I am using AS3 for thermal compond.

So What are your temp with that Borad (8kra2+) PLEASE !!!

On the same mainboard, my Barton 2500+@3200+ (200x11) at default voltage with SLK800. fan 8cm 2800rpm, + AS3
get the following temp. :

board 25° C
CPU 42° C idle, 47° load

room temp. is about 20° C.
The case is a Chieftec with 4 fans 8 cm (2 in - 2 out).

I had the same problem with this board untill I flashed it to the new BIOS dated 10/28/2003. Temps are now 28 board 30 CPU idle.

I don't find any Bios dated 10/28.
The last one available from Epox site is 08/28. Where is this bios downloadable from?
Actually my 8kra2+ has a Bios dated 5th August.
You have to consider that an XP 1800 is much cooler than
a Barton 3200+, so 30°C idle with SLK 800 is not surprising
to me.

Done. I've flashed the last Bios 10/28 (diskette method,
not by magic utility)

Now my temps are :

system 27°C
cpu idle 32°C
cpu load 48°C

the gap between idle and load status is now 16°
and it may be more correct than the older bios
(only 5 degrees) with the same configuration :

Barton 2500+@3200+ default volt.
SLK800 AS3 - 2800 rpm 8x8 fan
Chieftec case with four 8x8 fans
20° room
