contacted Mushkin about not being able to run my Level II 3500 at 2-2-2-6 and 200 Mhz when its rated 2-2-2-6 at 433 MHz.

Here's what I got as a reply.

"Hi Kevin,
I checked with one of the head techs here about your situation -
we have that board in house for testing and have been unable to run any memory at 222 at 200MHz or above.
Sometimes overrclocking is more an art than science...it sounds like your running into limitations of the system -
The CPU core is 166 -some CPUs are more overclockable than others - this combined with that specific board may be what is keeping it from running 222 spec"

I run an 8RDA3+ that is specd to run at 400 Mhz, so why are people telling me its my MB?

I am running 200 FSB, with the memory running at 100% which is 400 Mhz as well. It is SUPPOSED to run 433 at 2-2-2, but it won't even do 400 Mhz at 2-2-2, so why would it do it any higher? I run a Barton as well. PCI is locked with these boards, and my AGP is at 66 Mhz as well.

I just want to run the damn thing at 2-2-2 and 400 Mhz, which shoudl be NO problem if its specd to run 433 and 2-2-2.

i865/i875 chipset motherboards can have issues running 216MHz (DDR433) at 2-2-2 timings with less then 2.7V. But with AMD boards, this issue should be non-existant, especially at 200MHz (DDR400).

What AMD processor are you using? Have you run it above 200MHz FSB before? Have you tried using a 4:5 ratio (FSB 166 - MEM 207.5 (DDR415 at 2-2-2 timings)?

I am using a 2500+. Ihave never gone above 200 FSB or memory. They are saying because I OC my 2500 that is why there is a problem, which I cant see how since its still running at 400 FSB.

I have a 512 stick of Mushkin PC3500 Level 2. In Windows I have to run it at 2-3-3-6 at 200Mhz for stabilty. I use 2-2-3-6 sometimes, but that usually reboots randomly after a day. I'm kind of upset like you are about it, because mine passes all the tests of memtest86 when run over night (at 2-2-2-5@200). But yet I cannot be in Windows for more than 5 minutes at 2-2-2 at 200Mhz. This weekend I'm going to remount the northbridge heatsink and put a heatsink on the southbridge (I've heard that is supposed to help). If for some reason it fixes it, I'll let you know.

Well I RMAd it, I had to up the voltage to 2.9 to get it stable at 2-2-2-6 with no errors at 200 FSB. Thats all fine and dandy, BUT it will not do it at 433 MHz, and I am weary of a stick that needs 2.9 volts to run stable at a speed a lot lower than is specd.
