i dont know if this is a dumb question or not but for dual memory to work do you have to get a new mem chip or do you put your ddr in the dual mem slot?....thanx.

Dual memory is in reference to two dimm slots on your motherboard. You need two sticks of memory & a motherboard compatible with dual memory. =]

so one stick in single slot and one stick in dual slot or both sticks in dual slots?

i checked with kingston and they are saying my ram does support dual channel.

Your ram should be fine for dual channel, especially if they are the same brand and the same speed rated. The manual for the mobo should tell you which slots you have to use in order to get dual channel. Usually you use slots 1&3 or slots 2&4.
