Crucial Ballistix PC4000 with MSI K8N NEO Platinum (BIOS 1.44)
Here are my findings of this memory after hours of testing. This is simply for reference and I thought I'd post my experiences here.
Setup:
2x512MB Crucial Ballistix PC4000 (Rated at 3-4-4-8 2.8V DDR500 (250MHz))
MSI K8N Neo Platinum 1.44Bios
AMD 3200 64 Newcastle
Memory modules were installed in to DIMM slot's 1 and 2 for all tests.
Test results (Tcl-Trcd-Trp-Tras-Command Rate - (Maximum MHz):
(Maximum DDR CLOCK in MHz Achieved in Windows + Sisoft Mem Bench.)
CaS 2.0
2-2-2-6-1T - (224 MHz) <--- Max Achieved DDR Clock
2-3-2-6-1T - (227 MHz)
CaS 2.5
2.5-2-2-8-1T - (235 MHz)
2.5-3-3-8-1T - (250 MHz)
CaS 3.0
3-2-3-6-1T (250 MHz)
3-4-4-8-2T (255 MHz)
Note:
The posted timings here are from my own experiences with these memory modules.
All of these tests were conducted on the system in my sig, all tests have been benchmarked in Sisoft Sandra using the mem benchmark.
I did not test all timings using memtest86 yet, but I can confirm this memory passes at 250MHz with timings of 2.5-3-3-8 2.8V 1T.
Update: (9th August 04)
Added different timings/tests (as requested). I decided to re-test some of the existing timings I tested last night and I managed to get an extra 9MHz out of the first 2-2-2-6 Test, I dont know where this came from because the night before I couln't get past 215MHz on this test. I did run Prime95 all through last night when I slept, so maybe this has caused the increase (I'm starting to believe in the burn in theory more and more).
Update: (10th August 04)
Here is my highest sandra score I can get so far with these sticks.
Timings: 2.5-3-2-8, 250FSB (DDR500), 2.85V, HTx3)
