floppy drive busted

the light is not always on. when i put the floppy in it goes in properly and the floppy disk is all the way in.

when i access the drive windows say:
Please insert a disc into drive A;

i reconnected the cables. and there is only 1 way i can connect the power cable to the floppy drive and the flobby drive cable when i turn them around it wont connect.

well i would suggest get another floppy drive and see if that works if it doesn't then it could be your windows drivers

yep dos doesnt work either, oh well its cheap so no problem.

i only need it cause I use SATA drives and my disk restore program (drive image) needs the sata drivers of the floppy disk...

I've had this problem before. Try switching the floppy IDE cable around. I dont know why but the Floppy IDE cable with fit on both ways and the "upsidedown" way will not work.
