With my recent installation of the XP-120, my 3000+ has been able to run 300 x 9 in a cool and stable situation. The only problem is my "oc system" (terrible) ram that I bought off a friend for 10$. Some dividers on the motherboard refuse to work with it and the memory craps out around 220 1:1.

So I need the best combination of 512 x 2 or 1024 x 2 (if you can convince me) to run with my 300htt. My first choice is the OCZ Platinum Rev 2, but I have seen some recent releases of the XP3200 with new TCCD chips? The goal is to spend under 250$ but there is room for some change.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

my 4200's do 300 no problem from 263.
you can get 4800 plats and be garanteed 300

if your lucky the 3200 will hit 300

IMO, the best bang-per-buck RAM right now is the Patriot.
Here is mine running 1:1, Prime stable in the Everest latency test...

Thanks for the response. Looks like the 4200s are just under 200$.

-Persuasion by price? Still debating.

I might have to get these for just 149$

there's nothing wrong with those 3200's a fellow forum member just got a pair of TCCD and they are doing 300, that patriot is good also, but OCZ is mucher better quality heatspreaders.

I've had my hands on 5 sets of the patriot XBLK's and 3 sets clocked good and 2 sets clocked like crap and they run much warmer than the OCZ's
