I got a ASUS DVD ROM 12X & it seems to stop working when I set the memory in the BIOS to FAST.

Runs @ 143MHz 286FSB Normal(tRAS @ 6, tRP @ 3, tRCD @ 3)

Fails @ 143MHz 286FSB FAST(tRAS @ 6, tRP @ 2, tRCD @ 3)

I wanna run at at the best performance that the RAM can handle & have all my stuff work. Is this a sign that I have a crappy drive?

Probably just that your ram develops errors at that speed. Try dropping the FSB a bit at the FAST setting. It may work at 141, you never know.

I tried it at 142 & no go, 141 & no go, 140 still nothing. 143 can run the Torture Test in Prime95 with out any hiccups at fast. Will newer 4in1 drivers help? I'm currently running the 4.31s.

If its only rated for CAS3 and your running it at CAS2 AND overclocking it that may be your problem.

The Cycle Length is still at 3.
