A friend of mine currenly has an Abit IL9 Pro that he bought a while ago not knowing he'd ever overclock. He has a E6300 that he wants to take up to at least 2.2-2.3GHz or so. Regardless of other parts in the system, can someone here suggest a good overclocking motherboard for around $80-$100?

Thanks in advance

If Mobo is for your friend's E6300 the I suggest you go with the Gigabyte for they are lower$ and easier to setup. You might look at the GIGABYTE GA-EP43-DS3L $99 or GIGABYTE GA-EP35-DS3L $85 at NewEgg.

What's the disadvantage of open box? Maybe spoiled? Can't RMA?

you can rma still if needed thru manufacture. they tend to be motherboard sent back for one reason or another. newegg sends them off to manufactors to be checked out. for the most part when you buy them they are "white box" only, meaning oem style, just the board. i picked up a Biostar P43 board for $60 open box, i must have gotten lucky though, mine cam full retail.
