What motherboard has been tested best with the 1090t cpu? I am thinking of the 890/850 chipset type, but open to others.

The only cheap 890FX board I know is the BIOSTAR TA890FXE.

I've bought a dozen biostar boards and 2 went bad after a few years because of bad caps... strange since they were a decent brand of caps, I guess we both got screwed.
The others seem perfect.

Wayward_Son seems to have had good luck with his GA-MA785GPMT-UD2H but I'd add MOSFET heatsinks if I were you (he didn't, but I would) ... ;)

Thanks for the shout out, QuietIce, but I do have some Enzotech copper stick-on coolers on my MOSFETs and on my chokes.

I've had such outstanding success with my Gigabyte board that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone. For a mATX board I'd look at Gigabyte's 880G unit.

If I were to step up to a full ATX board and I wanted to try Crossfire, I'd buy this one. That's a lot of motherboard for not a lot of coin.

I have 2 Asus boards one 870 and one 880. I have the 1090 in the 870 and a dual in the 880. Both of the boards are designed to run up to 140 watts and they can handle the 125s with ease. I have both running all the time and the boards run cool. Both have the same overclocking stuff and support a wide range of voltages. I bought these so I could run the 1.35V EVO sticks and my past success with ASUS.

This is the 880 matx board I have.

And the 870 full size

Yeah - OC'ing without MOSFET heatsinks is bad Juju ...

True, I'll have to watch my boards for heat. I thought these would heatup like a fireplace but so far just warm but I'm not pushing them.
+1 on the copper Enzo's, I'm getting 120watts from a 95W ECS budget mobo.

I have had many asus boards over the years with no problems, only I seem to be interested in the GIGABYTE GA-890GPA-UD3H

I run 3 gigabyte boards, all good, no gripes. 890gx has very forgiving bios, 890fx good bios, not as forgiving. Did flash backwards on the 890gx because of multiplier differences. 3 years, no problems.

The 890gpa is my favorite. Good bios control, runs fast.
