Yep sure did, here's the result! :fight:

Upgrading Windows will affect the following features:

* Windows Mail is no longer included in Windows; however your e-mail files and settings will still be available after the upgrade. To send and receive e-mail you will need to install a new e-mail program. You can get e-mail programs from other software manufacturers or from the Microsoft website.

* Windows Vista Ultimate Extras have been discontinued and will no longer be available after upgrading to Windows 7.

Upgrading Windows will affect the following devices and/or programs:

These programs might not work properly after the upgrade. We recommend uninstalling these programs before upgrading. Cancel the upgrade, open Control Panel, and search for "uninstall a program". (Note: Programs marked as * can be safely reinstalled after the upgrade.)

o ATI CATALYST Install Manager *
o ATI Catalyst Control Center *

Is Windows 7 an OEM or retail version? Can you upgrade from an OEM to a retail version?

Aye the answer is 'AYE' (YES)! Here's a quote from Ron Vernon from Microsoft :

"OEM versions of Windows have always been upgradeable to Retail versions. The main difference between OEM and Retail is that the OEM manufacturer has the responsibility to fully support all aspects of that installation."

So now wot? :D :comp:

OK both the dates are the same. Here is the complete contents of the 'setuperr.log' file. Wot you think? ;)

i think its some driver issue's or a scratched disk won't let windows copy some files,
make sure the disc isn't scratched or has any error in them, if not i think you need to browse drivers before windows installation

edit: just googled a bit, try changing your mouse, keyboard and disabling audio, lan etc from the bios :)

Aye well, I've only got the 1 Keyboard an mouse... I'll try shuttin off the internet etc, an try again! OK Round 3! 😉

Hey Ive sussed it!!!!:D:rock::attn: I've discovered the problem myself!!! The problem is a 'Memory Mismatch'! I have 4 512Mb Dimms in my Motherboard configured to run in Dual Channel mode, now one of Dimms in question is slightly different, one is rated at CL3 and is double sided while the other 3 are single sided rated at CL2.5, they're all Corsair ValueRam. So, I've ordered another single sided one rated at CL2.5. I'll keep y'all informed! ;-):attn::clap::thup::comp:

Allo, sorry about the late reply, just got out of hospital an im 7 days post-op, hurtin an generally tired! :rain::cry::confused: BUT!!! I WILL SOLDIER ON - THIS MERE MAN/BEAR/TYPE THING WILL CARRY ON - I WILL FINISH WHAT IVE STARTED - BLAH BLAH BLAH YADDA YADDA!!!!!!! :screwy::screwy::bang head:blah::clap: Aye so, I've purchased a CL2.5 rated Corsair ValueRAM to go with the others. Please BE@R in mind that I already had a matched pair of Corsair ValueRAM 512Mb CL2.5 Double Sided sticks bought new a while back when a built the thing. Then me Managin Director/Better Half/The Mrs bought me wot she thought was matched pair of Ebay so a could have 2Gb in me system bless her... :D: :bday: but as it turns out, they weren't a matched set!?:bang head:argue::-/:rain::cry: still she's not to know the ins an outs of RAM timings etc, she just went an got "a pair of Corsair ValueRAM 512Mb sticks" an didnt know to look for Matched Timings, they have to be EXACTLY the same, etc. So, Ive gone an got 1 more the same as the other 3 an it only cost me £8.50 so im not really whingin, a mean a round at the pub is twice that nowadays like? So I've installed it an me systems runnin better more stable an a lot faster! I'll keep yer informed as to me latest attempt to install W7.:salute::clap::D:rock::attn:

Dont do the upgrade, I was able to use a win7 upgrade disc to do fresh install, by installing twice...you do an install, then it says its upgrade only reboot, and the next install takes.

I assume you pulled out the mismatched dimm and tried to the do the upgrade with 3 matched sticks installed.
if not, that would be my next step.
