question about 6970 multi monitor support

I have the 5850 and I understand with its DP+hdmi+dvi+dvi output that i can not do triple monitor unless one of the monitor uses displayport. For example 2dvi + hdmi does not work. My question is, is that the same thing with the 6970 or are you now able to use the hdmi and the 2xdvi at the same time now.

No you still can't. You can use either one DVI one HDMI or 2 DVI. You will need to use a Mini Display port to DVI or HDMI adapter. The difference is really the the 6xxx cards can do up to 4 monitors at a time and 5xxx was limited to 3 I believe.
