2nd monitor not appearing through DVI

I have a gigabyte 1070 gpu it has 1 hidmi a few display ports and a DVI port.
Before I got a new monitor I was using an old LG monitor through the dvi port no problems at all.
Recently got a newer bigger monitor for a main and that uses DP which is perfect,
But because my system isnt even seeing my second monitor (the old LG) in the dvi port when the DP is plugged in
Im forced to plu the second one in through HDMI which is a problem because I only have 1 hdmi and need it for VR headset.

Any thoughts on how to get my pc to see the second monitor through DVI?

This thread is solved.

I unplugged everything, plugged it back to DVI for the old monitor to come back on and be the "Main"
Then plugged the DP in and switched the main monitor in the settings.
