So I finally got my new mounts for my water block.
The delidding I did this morning and that went relatively smooth.
Now to get my apples to apples comparison I set the system up again like it was it my first post.
My original MAX AIDA temps:
98/96/95/87 @4.6GHz 1.3Vcore
My delidded water block directly on the CPU die MAX temps:
70/69/68/64 @4.6GHz 1.3Vcore
The difference:
28/27/27/23
Wow, the results seem to good to be true.
Makes me wonder if either i don't know how to mount a waterblock or Intel is doing a really poor job with the IHS. As I did not expect gain like that at all.
Now I have been waterclooing since Coppermines (P3's for you new to the game) and that was direct die cooling. Going back to it, WOW. Thats about all I can say. I don't know how we overclockers ever moved away from it.
