Hi Guys,

I have a pc that has a ati radeon 4800 series graphics card (2 x DVI port) i'm running two dell screens with this - i want to add a third, don't want a complex set up so thought i could just get a dvi to vga (2) splitter

Will this work or should i get something else,

The Mobo only has one PCIe 16 slot and i dont want to buy a new graphics cards as its an old pc just used for excel sheets.

Cheers

Andy

Using a splitter will simply duplicate the output, not allow for an extended third monitor.

I was afraid someone was going to say that - so graphics card all the way. Any suggestions?

I believe the GT 720 is the cheapest card to support 3 monitors.

What's the rest of the system, any onboard graphics?

No Onboard graphics as i know of - its a dell xps 430 - i did look at that wouldn't go for passive cooling tho - will need to investigate more.

It does have an s-video port - could i make use of that?

S-Video to VGA or DVI would require a converter box.
There are plenty of active cooled GT 720's out there.
