Will adding a filter make any deference?

It looks like a waste of money to me. Just use distilled water, ptnuke, and a silver coil and there shouldn't be anything in the loop to clog it.

Idea with our loops is that everything is thoroughly cleaned/washed before it is assembled, therefore a filter becomes superfluous.

Agreed with the above statements, it seems to me that if you NEED a filter in a proper loop, you have something wrong to begin with.

You don't need a filter to the loop. I used one for a few years. It does add resistance to the loop but regardless, you truly don't need it as you should have a clean assembled loop to begin with.
