Gearing up for VR

I was so bummed to find that my pair of heavily OCed 290s rated in the lower have of "capable" range in the Steam VR test. Thinking of selling them now and then waiting for the new AMD GPU to come out and buy a Fury X. That will put me out of my gaming machine for a couple of months.
Is the test flawed? I would think that I should have scored higher than what i did.

I imagine the test doesn't take advantage of crossfire? A single 290 is in the minimum requirements for the oculus.

just wait until games come out to test it with, valve's vr test seems to be a hit or miss alot of the time
