I use MBM to monitor temps. I changed the fan on the hsf. After doing that reported temps went from 41 C to 73 C! Re did the hsf fan (which is an AX-7 w panaflo 39 cfm) and temps stayed the same. Put on the stock intel hsf and temps stayed the same.
However, rig is stable. Before once 46 C was reached it would bsod or re boot. Sandra stress test ran ok (though I would only do it 1 time stressed).
If temp was accurate, it should shut down. Are the temps accurate? (Sandra reports temps of 76.5 !!!). Would the cpu even run if that high? If they are not accurate temps, will it affect performance (throttling?).
I'm posting this now on a rig reading 73C. Thanks for the input.
