What does clock multiplier do?

Using an unlocked AMD CPU, you can set the multiplier to different settings, to work with different FSB's. For example:

Mulitplier @ 10X 133FSB = 1330 MHZ
Mulitplier @ 10X 150FSB = 1500 MHZ
Mulitplier @ 11.5X130FSB = 1529 MHZ

The whole idea behind this is to get the Multiplier/FSB ratio to where the you achive the highest FSB with the lowest Multiplier for the fastest speed for the CPU.

I recommend that if your CPU is unlocked, you should set it to a high Multiplier, and low FSB to see what the limit is, in raw MHZ your CPU will tolerate.

Then, you lower the multiplier, and raise the FSB until you find the limit of your memory.

Lastly, you want to run the FSB at the highest you found that it will tolerate, and at the Multiplier that gives you the limit of the CPU.

I highly reccomend that you read the Beginner Guides, if you haven't already.

Good luck,

:)
