no...just analog. i wouldnt u onboard sound. its good for headphones. but when u start to run good stuff on it it takes away from your system resources. so i like to use a sound blaster personally.
If you look at the datasheet (Direct download word doc) on the website for c-media they claim the system they use of C3DX is a match for Dolby - but then again they would wouldnt they! It also supports digital audio interfaces.
There's been nothing wrong w/ the sound on Asus boards since they switched to the C-Media chip, rather than the AC97 chip. The AC97 chip really sucked, but the C-Media chip is actually pretty good. Good enough for what I use it for, and it supports 6 channel sound.
