well, if you're talking about for the system in your sig, then i'd go for the webcam.
reason being your temps seem pretty good to me. especially for a stock hsf.
on the other hand, summer is coming up soon, which might make a big change to those temps.

not much help at all really, was i? :p

lol, those were pretty much my thoughts as well :)
I can already notice slight rises in my temps, but a webcam is so handy....

Hmmm, I'm not sure that a new hsf can make a much faster system. A webcam is very handy....

webcams are lame .. the quality is ****ty ..and none of them worth it.
Just get a video camera ... I use my video camera as webcam some times ... the quality is x1000 better.

i don't know about the swann one, but i have one of those intel easy pc ones.
i got mine quite cheap. it was only $29. (i think?)
for the price, it's pretty good.
but in general the pics aren't the best. i don't know how it compares to other webcams though. maybe they're all the same.
the 640x480 res that it mentions isn't any good. but 320x240 works ok.
maybe it's just my dark room. lol
here's a sample of it's quality-

http://www.wn.com.au/looktall/fanlarge.jpg (640x480)

that's a 120mm fan.

but hey, for $29 when most other places were selling them for almost triple the price, i'm not going to complain too loudly. :p

EDIT: btw, the intel is manual focusing. if you can get one that does auto you'll be much happier. lol

Thanks for the pics dude. Are you sure thats the best quality it can do at 640x480?!?! That's not at all what I expected. The 320 res pics is not too bad.

Can you capture vids clearly?

that's about the best it does it for me. but like i said before, maybe my dark room isn't helping it very much. lol

vid capture isn't too flash. it can be a bit jumpy, especially if you move too fast.

hmmm, maybe I might just go for a new hsf. It's too bad there aren't any reviews for either of the two webcams in looking at.
