Question about a laptop

I'm probably getting a laptop sonn and I will need a serial port connection so that I can hook it up to my car. the problem is that this laptop doesn not have a serial port.

Does anyone know if I can get like a serial port/USB adapter so that I can use the latop on my car?

Yeah, I've got a 2001 Audi S4 and would like to log the data to avoid being screwed over by the dealership for false reports of any possible issues that may occur.

I also need this hardware for tweaking purposes.
