best card for $100? help

if you had around $90-100 to spend, which graphics card would you get with the best potential (won't be outdated as fast, overclockability, speed, etc..)?

I was thinking about these:

Sapphire Radeon 8500LE 128mb (250/?)
Visiontek Geforce 3 Ti500 64mb (240/250)

they are both the same price.. almost. The Sapphire I heard from the customer reviews at newegg that the mem is clocked at 200, so it's not actually 250, but I dunno. They both seem to perform the same.. I would really want the 8500LE built by ATI but it seems to cost much more. If anyone has any input in this, please do say.
thanks :D

The 8500 kicks the **** outta the GF3, hehe. It can compete with the Ti4200 easy, where the Ti500 comes nowhere close

neither, the Saphire 128mb seems to be clokced at 200mhz so that would SUCK....

get the 64mb 8500 Saphire that is 275/275 at newegg

edit:
and the Geforce 3 actually is pretty close, optimized drivers make it perform very well compared to the 8500, but not well enough:D

could u gimme a link for that? i never heard of that brand, is it any good?

Geforce4 ti4200 64mb

easily found if you follow ads close enough or read the different bargain forums a lot. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post links to the bargain forums.

that means built by ati (BBA) :D .....but look at newegg they have another saphire 64 mb with 3.6 or 3.3 ns ram at 275/275

If it was a choice between the two, I'd pick the ti-500. Only because the instruction set is a little bit better, and the image looks better for games (IMO). If it was for any graphics programs (photoshop, 3DS, Maya, etc...), I'd pick the 8500. It all depends on what you are going to be using the card for.

I agree with funny, the deal he mentioned is good for your price range prolly even less

cisco kid

dont people say that the 128mb 8500LE's RAM isn't clocked as high, but can be flashed to retail and then overclocked further?

hm.... this doesn't apply to 3rd party sellers does it..

My Radeon 8500LE (built by ATi) is clocked at 300/300 right now, flashed to the regular 8500 BIOS and going strong

Funny, ten and a half months ago the Ti500 was spankin the 8500,:D:D

For less than 100 bucks, Definetely an 8500LE, specially if its a Gigabyte 8500LE, :)

Saw a Gigabyte 8500le go for $59 today at Newegg refurb (granted it was a 64megger, but thats a good deal)
