Do I need to unlock my 1600+ if I get an nF2 board (ASUS or ABit)

The boards aren't the ones that unlocking the CPU.... The Tbred chips come unlocked, the Palomino don't, so if you want unlocked CPU you'd need at least a TBred 1700+
 
I can swap my 1600+ for a 2000+. Will it be a Tbred or is there still a chance it might be a Palo? If its a Tbred I should have acess to all the multipliers then just by plugging it in.
 
It'l be a pally I dont think anyones seen 2000+ tbred. May be wrong though.
 
Darn, what to do...go cheap and get a $50 abit KX7-333r and upgrade later or get the nForce2 board now and stick a Barton in it later. Blah..I hate not knowing what I'm getting into and I really don't have 2 weeks to learn about AMD CPUs, mobos and chipsets before I make the decision.

Oh well, atleast I have 2 days to decide before the good people at Newegg can start shipping products again (12/26).
