I picked up some CD-RWs at Fry's and they are for High Speed CD-RW and my current CD-RW will not see them. Does anyone know what CD-RW does read these?? I have been to Newegg and Directron but maybe I am missing something in the specs?

Thanks!

8x so close enough I guess eh? Time to upgrade that too now.
Looking at the Pioneer DVD-R-RW CD-RW at Directron. $236 +shipping.
Anyone know of a better one?

don't waste your money "high-speed" is simply a scam to egt you to buy another cd burner I have a 40x12x48 and it can't read high-speed discs because it's not branded to do so, go down to your local comp usa buy some standard 12x media not rated as high speed stick it in your burn and burn to your hearts desire

A DVD burner would be nice and you couldn't PAY ME to buy something from CompUSA.
I'm just going to get the Lite-on CD-RW for now.
Lite On 24x10x40x

This will met my burning needs for now.

Thanks guys for the input.

The VTech I have that same CD-RW drive It works great.
Light On makes Great burners.

Thanks Dark at least now I know that much since I have not used anything but Sony and Matsusita/Pioneer to date.

Are there any driver issues in XP or recognition issues with Nero 5?
