ive got 256 crucial ddr at the moment and need some more. Will there be any effect in getting some 2700 crucial as at some piont im going to up my mb, but at present is it ok to run 2100 with 2700?

thanx

its fine to run them at the same time, but the pc2700 wont run at pc2700, it will run at pc2100, unless u can push ur pc2100 to pc2700. But if you have crucial, I am able to push my pc2100 to pc3000 before my CPU craps out... and the fact that I dont have a heatsink on my mem.

It'll work, but when running multiple sticks of RAM, you can only run as fast as the slowest module. If I were you, I'd get a 512 meg stick of good RAM and sell the old one.
