I went from a 1ghz with usb to a 1.4 no usb
all I did was change the chip out
had a antec 300watt PSU we thought it was the PSU now I have a emerax 431 PSU and the lock-ups have stop well atleast for now but I still have no USB
went from the 1004 bios to the 1005a no luck anyone have any suggetions ??

I didn't catch the previous thread so I am going to ask a stupid question.

In the bios under the Advanced menu is the USB Legacy support set to [Auto]? Try setting it to [Enabled]. Then under Advanced...PCI Configuration...USB Function...[Enabled].

I hope this helps. :)

yes have tried both of those
what's weird is if I put my 1ghz chip back in it works fine ???
not over clocked or anything just a 1.4 chip
the mouse works in PS2 port any suggestions

This is strange.

What I am about to suggest shouldn't work but....Try going to Jumper Enabled mode and set everything to the settings that you want and try again.

It is weak suggestion but I have heard strange things about the jumper mode sometimes working better than jumper free.
