lm_sensors in Mandrake

I was running mandrake 9.1 now running the new RCbeta 9.2 and i could/can not get lm sensors working in it... Is there anyone running mandrake that has it running succesfully.. I know there are some cercumstances that require u to compile into the kernel tree but i am not sure on about how to do this.. is there any info that somone could give me or some good links.. i find the "info" at the lm_sensors site geared toward long users of linux and i'm not sure what some things are all about..?
