i'm trying to decide on which of the 3 mushkin type ram i should buy. i'd like your guy's help on which will give me the best price/performance ratio. i'm looking to achieve the highest overclock. right now i have my 2.4 @ 3.38ghz with generic pc2700 @stock voltage, D1 stepping. i'm not sure if getting any new ram would help me get a higher oc, but i know i'm getting less performance out of this ram.

i know this one is better because of the lower timings. but i'd like to pay a little less. i'd like to know how much of a performance diff there would be compared to the 3500 or cheaper 3200? thx for your time.

Theoretically, the PC4000 would allow you to achieve the highest overclock. At that price, it might not be so bad a purchase.

Personally, I have the 1GB version of your second choice, the PC3500 Level One Dualpack, and it's been nothing but rock and roll for me since I got it, and it overclocks very well. It won't do as tight timings, but timings aren't as important, to me anyway.

The PC3200 Level One and the Special 222 would be good if you wanted to run at 400mhz, because they would allow you to sharpen the timings, but you'd probably have to loosen them up a bit when you overclock. Plus, the 222 is pricey for what it is.

Bottom line is no matter what you buy from Mushkin, you probably won't be disappointed. But to achieve the highest overclock, I would say go for the PC4000.

Cheers,

Odie
