RAID0 question with using an old and a new hard drive.

I've got this 80GB SATA maxtor here which is about 6-8 months old and I want to get another identical (new) hard drive to run it in Raid0.

I hear that the hard drives should come from the same batch if you're running RAID. Is this true or do I have nothing to worry about as long as the hard drive specs are the same?

It does not have to be the same brand, as long as it is the same size. Should use the same drive speed, otherwise in raid configuration you'll just get the speed of your lowest speed drive.
