I have just purchased a P4 3.0 gHz Northwood and its winging its way to me, I was previously running a P4 1.7 an old D850GB mobo with 256mb RDRAM and a Geforce FX 5900XT (No I'm not an idiot i was already planning an upgrade when i bought that), I intend to put the new processor in a P4S800 mobo that I have recently aquired coupled with 512mb PC3200 DDRAM.

I was really just wondering what kind of performance boost i might gain and whether there are any performance bottlenecks in the proposed new rig.

I was also wondering what kind of overclocking potential it might have, (new to oc'ing as Intel boards are locked through and through.)

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Cheers
